Fundraise for us

From a sponsored cycle ride to a charity coffee morning, fundraising events are a great way that you can raise money for acet UK, and build awareness of our work at the same time.

Here's some examples of what our supporters have been doing to fundraise for acet UK:

Wreath making

Catherine

Catherine ran wreath-making craft workshops at Christmas and asked each attendee to make a donation in lieu of a contribution to the cost of the materials. Catherine ran the workshops during the Big Give Christmas Challenge in December so all the donations were made through the Big Give and were doubled!

Stephanie as a star

Stephanie

Stephanie wanted to show her support for the ladies of the Shining Star project in Zimbabwe, so she did a sponsored 10K run - dressed as a Shining Star! Stephanie did her run during the Big Give Christmas Challenge in December so all her sponsors gave in the Big Give and their donations were doubled!

Christmas Quiz

Rae

Rae runs a Zoom Quiz every Christmas for friends and family. It's a fun (but competitive) evening and each contestant makes a donation to acet UK through the Big Give Christmas Challenge.

Bless concert

Ian

Ian put on a concert at his church, which gave one of his students the chance to perform their diploma recital. By asking for donations at the event and encouraging supporters to complete Gift Aid declarations, Ian raised £414.

Finn sponsored cycle

12 year old Finn

12 year old Finn organised a sponsored 15 mile cycle ride with his family, and raised over £500 in sponsorship. He set up a GiveNet sponsorship page, so that wider family who didn't live nearby could pledge their support, and used Facebook to ask friends to sponsor him. His dad’s employer then matched the total raised, so Finn’s final total exceeded £1000.

Splat the vicar

Angela and Douglas

Every summer, Angela and Douglas hold an Open House to raise funds for acet's work. They serve cream teas and provide fun and games, such as 'Splat the Vicar!' With Gift Aid, the Open House raises several thousand pounds each year.

Moel Famau route

12 year old Lily and 11 year old Caitlin

12 year old Lily and 11 year old Caitlin used GiveNet and our sponsor forms to raise nearly £1000, for their climb to the 562m summit of Moel Famau in North Wales. The climb took 5 hours, and was a 7 mile circular route.
