We are so inspired by the courage of the ACET Ukraine team, who have continued working with young people throughout the war.
Since May, as well as delivering relationships and sex sessions and youth clubs, online and in-person where possible, the team have been providing specialist psychosocial support for young people.
This has been critical for the emotional healing of these young people, many of whom have experienced the bombing of their cities, lost loved ones, and witnessed or been victims of sexual assault by Russian soldiers.
Many are experiencing fear, anxiety, depression, grief, and even survivor’s guilt. At a time when most teenagers are building a sense of who they are and what they want to do with their lives, Ukrainian teenagers’ sense of identity has been stripped away without any ability to prepare for it.
