A resource pack to help youth workers talk with young people about emotional wellbeing and feelings.
These resources aim to help young people start to think about and explore their feelings, and improve their emotional wellbeing. The activities are designed to work with young people aged 11-18.
The session pack is designed to help surface and develop the skills young people already possess. Many young people have limited vocabulary around the emotions they feel but at the same time have a rich and deep understanding of emojis. The tactile wooden resource helps build on this strength, by encouraging young people to express themselves and discuss feelings in an open and honest way.
The range of example responses to feelings in this pack have been selected to help young people expand and develop their methods for processing their feelings.
Included in the pack:
- Booklet with activities to run a 45min youth work session
- Wooden laser cut and engraved emojis in a handy bag, used in a main activity to identify and express feelings
- Laminated cards with examples of helpful ways to respond to feelings
- Agree and disagree activity and a self-reflective drama activity
