For the first time, the Big Give has offered acet UK the full champion matched funding for the Christmas Challenge online matched funding campaign to add to our pledger’s matched funding. This is absolutely fantastic news but it does mean our fundraising target is the highest it has ever been at £24,016! EEK!!
It would be amazing if you would consider organising a fundraiser to encourage your friends and family to give and so help us reach this ambitious target.
The money raised will help fund girls’ empowerment projects in Nigeria and Zimbabwe in 2022 – see our flyer for more details.
Some fundraising ideas:
· a 'sponsored event' where your sponsors give through our Big Give page during the Christmas Challenge week. You could share photos or a video of yourself doing your challenge to encourage donations. (In previous years, we've seen cycling, swimming, dancing, keepie uppies, instrument playing, and a silent disco!).
· run a car boot sale, coffee morning or similar and then donate the proceeds yourself during the Christmas Challenge week.
· hold a quiz with the entry fee being a suggested donation to the Christmas Challenge.
· create something to be raffled off for one of your friends to ‘win’ and 'sell' pieces of the creation in return for a suggested donation to the Christmas Challenge.

The only limits are that the resulting donations need to be given online by debit/credit card through our Big Give donation page during the Christmas Challenge week – so between midday on 30th November and midday on 7th November.
If a fundraising event isn’t your thing or you are short on time, there are other ways you can help us reach our target. If you are online, please share our Big Give social media posts so that more people see them. And for a more traditional way of sharing news about the Big Give, please pass this flyer on to a friend and ask them to take part.

How the Christmas Challenge works
Half of the target is made up by £12,008 of matched funding ready to DOUBLE any online donation given to our work in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. To access this whole pot of matched funding, we will need to receive £12,008 of online donations during the Christmas Challenge week.
Sadly, if we don’t receive at least £12,008 of online donations during the week, we will lose whatever is left in the pot.
The first £6,004 in the matched funding pot is from our own wonderful pledger – thank you SO much, you know who you are!!
And once we have ‘used up’ this part of the matched funding, any further donations will start to be doubled by another £6,004 pledged by the Big Give champion.
